Backpacking the Grand Canyon

A Hike to the Bottom of the Grand Canyon

My husband Dan recently backpacked the Grand Canyon and camped overnight at the bottom, no mule… and no guide. He took these spectacular pictures of his amazing journey with a Canon 20D camera.

  1. I’ve never been to the bottom of the grand canyon before. I chose instead flying over it. Also, last time I was in Arizona, I didn’t have a digital camera yet. Seeing these pictures makes me want to start planning a trip right now.

  2. Dan! 2 days without a shower? Now you’re talking man stuff here! Oh, BTW, When we all get out there… make sure Dan showers before we head on out for the evening, ok?

Looks like if you wanted to sleep in a hole – that would be the one. Amazing photos. Have an award for you here:

  5. ‘Two’ photographers in one family, why am I not surprised? πŸ™‚ I love the Canyon, he captured some amazing shots. Seems like a lot of effort to sleep at the bottom of a hole in the ground though. πŸ˜‰
