Carefree, Arizona

The Best Small Town in Arizona

They say the area’s motto is “Home of Cowboys and Caviar, Where the Old West Meets the New.” Carefree is one of the oldest master planned communities in Arizona. Planned in the 1950’s with it’s residential areas surrounding the town center where a 62 feet sundial points to the North Star. Surrounding the town center are many specialty shops, galleries, and restaurants with a southwestern, Spanish village atmosphere.

Carefree and Cave Creek are neighboring towns. They equally compliment each other for what they stand for, Cave Creek is the icon of the old west, Carefree was built around the western tradition. Both towns share the local landmark Black Mountain.

Carefree is bordered by the city of Scottsdale to the south and Cave Creek to the west.
