Tour De Coops

For Fun & Education

The Phoenix Tour de Coops, organized by the Phoenix Permaculture Guild in response to the burgeoning interest in urban livestock, and rapidly-increasing attendance in their backyard chicken-raising classes. It is designed to give visitors insight into the experience of raising urban chickens, ducks, and quail, while inspiring them to start their own backyard coops. Go to their website and read more about  Tour De Coops

This is a self-guided tour of the valley’s coolest chicken set ups and it is presented by the
Valley Permaculture Alliance

I’m interested in becoming a part of this tour, it certainly is an incentive to not only better my existing set-up, but to share my ideas on chicken-keeping.

North Chicken Coop

I’m not sure if mine would be considered one of the Valley’s coolest chicken set ups, but we are functional and that must count for something!

  2. Rita A. says:

So what are the rules for backyard chickens. DOes it depend on lot size?

I’m currently writing a post on what the guidelines are. But no, lot size isn’t necessarily a requirement. Hang in there, I’ll get that post up quickly ok?
