If you don’t know what Dressage is, watch this video. Trust me, it just doesn’t get any better than this…

  1. I had hoped to see dressage during the Olympics in London but they never aired it here in the states. I was disappointed!

Horse looks spectacular, in what some of us prefer to call “flashical” dressage…but she isn’t very happy. Her back isn’t up, and I haven’t seen that much annoyed violent tail-swishing in quite some time. It often happens that as horses and riders move up the levels in dressage, they forget the basics of the schooling pyramid, especially “relaxation”. As you move up, you must constantly revisit the basics to make sure you don’t lose them.

Pretty to watch but it is unnatural for the horse. There are also a lot of complaints of cruelty to horses in the teaching of this sport. I don’t know a lot about horses but this doesn’t seem good for the horse. http://bit.ly/7kCzCI

Oh my NO! Don’t confuse this with the training practices of the gaited horse. There is absolutely nothing unnatural about the movement of the Dressage horse.
