Breakfast of Chicken Champions

My hens are fat and happy and I’m thrilled that my feed bill is half what it was. How? Because I prepare them a feast for breakfast everyday with our left over table scraps.

Funny, it looks pretty good to me, but in reality, the grapes and tomatoes are mushy, the greens limp, the rice could pass for wallpaper paste, and the bread is hard as a rock.Β  But my ladies wait by the gate like it’s a Thanksgiving feast fit for a king… or at least a few queens.

Wonderful chicken advice, you give us plenty to browse and enjoy. I too have enthusiastic chickens that delight in leftovers. The result is always delicious tasting eggs. Thank you for the follow.

  4. Good to hear that! More vitamins and nutrients for the layers too!! Great to hear they made it through the hot summer πŸ™‚

Kinda sorta, they run free, but can’t say there’s much to eat on our dry land. Haven’t seen a bug around here in a long time though!

I got to say that I thought it looked like a great salad to take along to work. BUT mushy, wilted produce, rock hard bread and gloopy rice is not my thing. In the picture the bread looks like chicken chunks!!! SO SORRY!
Anyway it is always a relief to cut down on the feed bill. πŸ™‚
