Caterpillers Everywhere!

Parts of the Phoenix area are dealing with an invasion of caterpillars. In some places, hundreds, even thousands. Nobody seems to know what they are, but it’s pretty certain they will turn into big gray moths… not beautiful butterflies.

    It was a bad year for caterpillars here, too- tent caterpillars- hundreds of them during the hot part of summer.

    I’ve never seen any like that around here. We are seeing a lot of caterpillars and butterflies and moths lately… and yes, those awful grasshoppers too!
