Beat by the Heat

TBN Ranch 6-25-14Another day the new chicken pen won’t get put together, and the cedar hen house I bought two days ago is still in my truck. I bought an AC unit for the brooder shed and it’s still in the shipping box… in my living room.

The new chicken pen needs dirt, another yard needs a fenced enclosure, and I still have some tedious trim work to do in the new brooder shed.

My alarm goes off at 5:30 AM. That gives me two hours to tend the chickens, water the trees, grass, gardens, and property chores in general before the sun chases me indoors. Needless to say, the chores list is building fast here in ovenland.

Not lazy, not tired, not too busy, just beat by the heat. Today’s high, 109 in the shade.

A Blast from the Past

Ah… such a long time ago, doesn’t look like much has changed.

Love the blast from the past… 😉

  2. I know what you mean, we are having a heat wave here (unusual I know for the UK) and yesterday we just sat around saying it was too hot to work – but of course the jobs don’t do themselves. a bit cooler today so back to the chores.
