How Long Eggs are Good For

As a guideline, refrigerated raw shell eggs will keep with minimal quality loss for about 4 to 5 weeks beyond the sell date or about 3 weeks after you bring them home.

Too many eggs from your flock? Offer them to the neighbors, it’s always a good idea to keep those who live nearby your flock happy!

  1. I read somewhere that if you coat your eggs in oil, “vegetable oil” it seals the egg shell from bacteria and is safe to keep your eggs for up to a year as long as they are refrigerated. Is that true?
